Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the daughter of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, a multi-talented actor as well as a producer, director and playwright, educator, and director of drama in St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton. She is the child of Ilkay Silk and Peter Silk. Her mother is an "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" that is originally from Britain.
