 Rubi Rose Benton a Kentucky native born on the 2nd of October, 1997. Her parents were Nardos Gebrelul, her maternal grandmother (an Eritrean immigrant dentist, born in Ethiopia), and John Benton her father (a lawyer of Japanese as well as African American descent). Her father was adopted. Scarlette is an older sister . Coral is a younger sibling. [2] As a child she was baptized an Orthodox Christian. [better sources needed] She resided in Geneva, Switzerland for one year. When she was in her senior year in high school she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. Brookwood High School, Snellville, Georgia was where she was a track athlete. She was a student of political sciences at Georgia State University. She grew up listening to Prince, Michael Jackson, Biggie, Marvin Gaye and Chaka Khan. Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj are her main influences. Rose gained notoriety as the lead actress in Migos music videos for "Bad and Boujee", which was a hip-hop band. About this time she began to appear regularly on the Twitch stream with Jamaican-born East Coast Hip Hop Commentator DJ Akademiks. Rose began her musical career in September 2018, when she remixed "On Top", a song by Playboi Cari. Through her hit single "Big Mouth", she gained traction in the year 2019. Rose appeared in American rapper Cardi B's music video for her track "WAP" that came out on August 7 in 2020. A&R Chris Turner signed Rose to LA Reid's record company Hitco Entertainment in 2019. Rubi is also known for her high-profile romantic relationships. She has dated Travis Scott and Playboi Cari as well as Ian Connor, 21 Savage and Soulja Boy. She is currently not dating.
